Having read the feedback from members about all the Euro leagues being in one thread, we've decided to revert to individual threads for each league, but they won't be stickied unless very active.

All English lower league chat here please.

I quite like the fact they're all in the one bit..

Likes of the Dutch, French, Portuguese thread's for example are barely used so makes sense to stick them all together..

All English lower league's the same..

Well, if they're not used, they'll eventually just drift down the forum pages. But this isn't a hugely busy part of the forum anyway.

Looking at the odds for Conf North last night. York and Salford are joint favourites. If they fit around Celtic games might try and get to a few York games. Some should be good, Salford, FC Manchester, Darlo, Bradford PA and Southport on Paddies day!

New season starts tomorrow, although no game for me this weekend.:38:
Wigan, Blackburn and Portsmouth are all being tipped to be there or thereabouts in L1, but I wouldn't give the first one much of a hope. Paul Cook should have walked the fourth division with Pompey, instead it took him to the last day, and he already seems to be alienating people at Wigan. By the time they sack him it will be too late.
The atmosphere is still toxic at Blackburn and I am not sure Mowbray will handle the pressure, they need to start the season well as even one bad result will add to the tension there from Venky's. Whittingham and Dack are two very good signings and they have kept the bulk of their better performers. If Mowbray can handle expectation they will do ok.
Pompey have brought in a better manager and have a decent side but have brought in no big signings and have lost Enda Stevens. The recent takeover might mean that changes before the end of the month.
I think Bradford and S****horpe will definitely be there or thereabouts, they have been for the last couple of years and both have decent managers with the fans backing. They also seem to have improved their squads with clever signings, including S****horpe taking McArdle from Bradford. At 12/1 and 16/1, both are worth a bet.
    1. Bradford
    2. Blackburn
    3. S****horpe
    4. Fleetwood
    5. Pompey
    6. Southend
    7. Wigan
Anything can happen at the bottom, but I expect those clubs that have been badly run to struggle. Bristol Rovers and Wimbledon may struggle too.

    21. Rotherham - Could be difficult to recover from last season.
    22. Walsall- Starting the season with a manager the fans hate cannot end well.
    23. Blackpool- Was amazed they went up and the Oyston saga continues.
    24. Gillingham- Survived on the final day last year, they then sell their two stars without replacing them.

I'll keep League 2 short! I think the top 2, in whatever order, are nailed on.
    1. Luton- They have to go up this year. This may have been said last year.
    2. Mansfield- Steve Evans is a ****, but he is an excellent manager at this level and has signed well.
    3. Coventry- Despite the SISU situation, Mark Robins has got the feel-good factor back.
    4. Lincoln- Momentum can go a long way in a tight league.
    5. Wycombe- Playing horrible football under a horrible manager.
    6. Cambridge- Hope more than realism. Lots of ins and outs, not sure if the team has improved.
    7. Notts County- Kevin Nolan seems to know what he is doing, I think they will surprise a few.

    23. Crawley- Harry Kewell isn't who you want in a fight to stay in the league.
    24. Yeovil- Losing key players to other relegation rivals says it all.

I'll be at Wigan Bury next week. Hard to tell how they will look after the end of the window. Definitely have one of the best squads in the league. Griggs and Powell still there. Cook has created a feel good factor but has pushed away players who are not 100% committed. Fancy Wigans experience to get automatic promotion if they dont lose any more players.

Hopefully the breadman, Weir and tear, 6 mill Leipzig and Cummings get Forest up. What a laugh that'd be..

I have no idea why they hired Cook, a man who spends 90 minutes on the sidelines shouting 'work', 'track back' and the likes in a comedy Scouse accent before fighting with the fourth official. He has frozen out Omar Bogle and Max Power already.
Wigan's squad is strong enough to go up, Cook is a liability though. They seem incapable of making a sensible managerial appointment these days.

I wish bhoys! Just a football fan I'm afraid, although not of Paul Cook, or indeed of any club he has ever managed either!

Ha! Not done that either, I don't think! I just don't see what some football chairmen see in him.

How come there is no game for your team this weekend mate or do you just mean they are away and you aren't going ?

The team I watch most regularly are away, I was going to go watch an FA Cup game but have other priorities, unfortunately. It would mean missing the Celts for a start!

Good to see hometown club Doncaster Rovers getting a 3-1 away win at title favourites Blackburn today
