I got to feel for Jacobs gone through cancer came back to boxing and should have won tonight, it was a bad performance from GGG that or he aged overnight.

I'm the same, I really wanted Golovkin to show his power and relentless stalking to win the fight in some style.

But Jacobs tactics were perfect. I don't know a lot about boxing so maybe I missed a lot of technical stuff but all the technique seemed to come from Jacobs.

Jacobs was definitely impressive. But it may have seemed like he won the fight as no one expected him to have any success so everything he landed was more noteworthy.

Golovkin still had complete ring control and although he didn't land as much as usual I feel he was the busier fighter, and was always on the front foot. He deservedly won the fight in my opinion but a close call.

That's a decent argument because that is one thing Golovkin does do is take the fight constantly to the opponent and shows great bravery doing it. But I've seen Mayweather dodge dance around the outside of the ring for near enough teh whole fight before landing that cobra punch of his and it ended up really boring. One thing you can't say about boxers who are willing to go forward is they aren't boring. However, I think Jacobs did enough coming back to show he could also land a few punches not to be affected by it.

You could be right and that is what the judges seen in Golovkin's fight but I still think as a contest Jacobs was superior. Like counter attacking teams at football, Madrid are specialists at it, like tonight Bilbao were all over them then boom boom Madrid score on the counter because their defence was so good.

Still though, can't wait to see Golovkin's next fight to see if he is finished or if he just had a bad night.

Just watched the Roman Gonzalez fight.. What a fight that was!

I had Gonzalez winning by 1 round, maybe 2.

GGG didn't look as convincing as he usually does, I think he may have been cagey with jacobs as he is a good fighter, very slick with a good defence, and is good technically.

Heard that GGG is still waiting for his big pay day so he might pursue Alvarez harder , or go for Saunders in the meantime which will be a similar fight to Jacobs I feel, then go for the big money with Alvarez after he fights Chavez jr.

Amir Khan will want to fight Golovkin after that display.

It could work in GGG's favour though because it might give his next opponents false hope.

I don't know Chavez Jr but I reckon he would me short work of Alvarez. I don't know Saunders either ffs. I think Alverez might be a totally different fighter too :56: Who was the guy Canelo who shat himself from a fight with Golovkin not that long ago?

Even though I thought that fight went to Jacobs I hope GGG makes a lot of money out of his next fights, he's so unique he deserves it.

Have to admit I am very surprised as well, if you asked me to guess it would have been the opposite way about. GGG must've been landing more than it looked like when he was up close and they had to get split a lot. Jesus now I feel like I know nothing about boxing. I thought I was getting to understand it a bit too.

I would imagine Golovkins punches hurt more too but that's what is confusing, Jacobs looked like he wasn't affected at all. Apart from the 4th round I think.

Was that the guy whose head was cut? If it was then I was sure he was winning too. Think most people did. It was quite a battle too.

At the end of the night I thought it was going to be two upsets on the same card.

Btw if that's Golovkin having a * night * is he like when he's in the mood?

Yeah bud that was him. Can't believe the judges gave it to the other guy. I thought if it was close, which it was, then they would defo give the decision to the guy with 46-0.

If I felt it was the correct decision I'd salute them for it, but I honestly thought the wee man was the classier boxer and was landing the best shots. I'm sure I read he landed more punches in 10 of the 12 rounds as well....
