The Greens can't be trusted on economic matters.

What I will take away from this election is that a helluva lot of Labour voters would rather vote Tory than see an Independent Scotland. *.

I hardly see their credentials any worse than literally any party.

They'll work with the Greens on certain issues, and I doubt very few will have an issue with that.

I seriously doubt we'll be seeing Green policy implemented to that extent, so you can chill out.

I think it's a mixture of people looking to avoid another independence referendum and is also a sign of the rise in the middle and upper-middle classes in Scotland.

For example, it's looking very likely that the SNP will keep the 40% tax rate as it is, whilst the UK Government are raising it to £45,000 and then have suggested they're going to raise it £50,000.

In Scotland you pay that 40% rate of tax at £43,000.

The reason the Tory vote was high is as a direct result of how shambolic Labour are. They are 2 cheeks of the same *, only the Tory cheek actually tells you he is a * whereas Labour tries to hide it.

What sort of opposition would the Scottish Labour party be? Limp, at best.

I'm surprised people are surprised tbh.

Look at the layout before yesterday's elections - a very strong SNP majority, with a residual batch of green/lib dem and sizeable positions for both labour and Tory.

We knew one thing for certain (I thought I did anyway) - labour were going to be the biggest losers yesterday. A large share of their seats would be divided up amongst the remaining parties, and with the SNP position essentially 'maxed out' already, it was likely that the conservatives would take a number of those seats.

The only question was really wether that would be enough to claim 'opposition' status or not, and wether this vote would allow the SNP to cling on to a majority. I expected the conservatives to form the opposition this time round, but thought that the SNP would just cling on.

In 2011 there wasn't this clamour/people saying that SNP voters should 'lend' their vote and we got an SNP majority , fast forward 5 years and despite increasing our vote we lost a couple of MSP's how did that happen ...

Anyway we have managed to secure a 3rd term, under a system that wasn't designed to produce an overall working majority, and that is some achievement :hi5: :veryhappy:

Don't think people understand that the system is designed not to have an overall majority. The fact the SNP are only 2 seats off that is a fantastic result.

A pretty simple behind the doors pact with the greens gives the SNP full power.

As I said last night, the fact people are disappointed at this result just shows how far we have came.

3rd term in government and most of the country covered in yellow. A few years ago this would be unthinkable.

Frustrating to see so much blue on the map however it's no real surprise where it is situated, lets be honest.

I'm just glad that the SNP don't have full power. The system was designed to prevent that happening, and with the SNP wavering on issues such as fracking I'm glad they won't be able to railroad anything through now.

    Job done.
