BR on @eriksviat : "Erik is okay. He’s spoiled his good looks for a few days but I believe he’ll be fine."

I like Erik but that lack of pace he has could cost us against deadlier and faster opponents. He had one very, very hairy moment which thankfully came to nothing but had that been Efe I can only imagine the reaction.

He took a daft touch and nearly gave them the ball, wasn't really pace. Efe * up constantly, Erik doesn't.

Your just trolling now. :smiley-laughing002: It was his attempt to pluck it out the air that allowed their man a yard of pace on him.

That man being a 34 year old Lee Casciaro.

I'm not trolling at all :smiley-laughing002: I like Erik he looks a solid defender but the lack of pace against trickier, speedier opponents is a bit of a concern to me that is all. He's still first choice CB without question.

Guy comes in and looks like a rock solid leader and dumplings are trying to pick fault in his pace. Very good.

Been great for us since he came in, would be a bit concerned about his pace also

he reads the game so well it makes up for the lack of pace.

Don't need as much pace if you can read the game

We have just been spoiled with so many pacey CB's lately that we think it is a must have in any defender.

    Not the case.

He's not even that slow though - and as others have said, having a good reading of the game is more important, and makes up for a bit of a lack of pace, so long as you're not like a tortoise, and Erik isn't as slow as others (Mulgrew in particular).

Agreed. He's not fast but he's not slow by any means.

He's a class act. He made one error yesterday and it stood out like a sore thumb because I can't remember the last time he made a mistake like that. He's rock solid and, like Lustig, he knows what this club is all about.
