A wee snide dig at the new manager or the board there, why mention the fact he was being brought in as his assistant, maybe Lennon should tell everyone why he really left

Properly excited by Deila. Granted I don't follow the Tippeligaen as closely as I used to but from texting my cousins in Norway, he is very highly rated over there and should be great for us. I think his appointment will be great news for the likes of Watt, Henderson and Biton too

I've highlighted this a few times as well. He didn't have another job to walk into, therefore something has happened behind the scenes between the end of the season, and his departure in my opinion. My initial thoughts are top players being sold on, but I hope I am well wide of the mark on that.

Whilst he's out of touch with his Keane giving the club a big lift comments, I don't see any issue with him stating Deila was being considered as his number 2. He was clearly being groomed to take over as Manager a while ago which is extremely encouraging.

Probably similar reasons as to why the club are courting a manager of a Norwegian club 90% of people had not heard of last weekend.

I think the word "budgets" probably sums it up.

By the time the CL qualifiers come round and we see who has gone and who has come in we will know the answer for definite.

I like most will get right behind the new guy but am under no illusions as to why he is being considered for the manager of one of the biggest clubs in world football.

Totally agree with this, Keane would certainly not give anyone a lift and surprised Lenny was so out if touch on that one.

I think Id be more excited by Robbie taking over than Roy

Disappointing and entirely unneeded comments from Lennon, no doubt done to boost his own overinflated ego.

Sadly I think Lennon will be another rent-a-gub when it comes to us which shouldn't really come as a surprise.

We are hardly one of the biggest clubs in the world these days, we have a world class support thats about it, and the way the club is being downsized, this world wide Celtic brand pish is only aimed at people from outside these shores to buy club merchandise.

I don't see him coming to celtic to be a number 2 unless the plans were in place for him to replace lennon when he left.
Im going to guess lennon was going to leave next summer and they wanted the new guy in a year early.
If lennon wanted keane as manager it may explain some of his not so great signings.

That is poor form IMO - he has stood up for our Club and gave a large chunk of his life to serving it.

He gets things wrong sometimes like everyone else but Celtic's best interests have clearly always been his main focus and I doubt any fall out or disagreement, if it has happened, would sour that for any length of time.

I honestly believe deila will be a head coach not a manager, he will have no say on who we sign or who goes and i very much doubt that by the end of August that, Forster, Virgil and 1 of either Lustig or Mathews will be still here.

Forster and Van Dijk were already as good as gone months ago and no danger of Lustig going he just signed a new deal.

Perhaps you come come up with some reasons where the comments he made were done in our best interests, all I can see are him making ill advised comments, particularly at this time, which undermine Ronny and give the media plenty of ammunition. Given how we know his ego grew in his latter years as our manager, it wouldn't surprise me if this was done deliberately.
