You know the English national team has got * when they are doing all in their power to get a 18 year old belguim kid to play for them, looks a decent player mind you.

Quite obvious that he'll get done by some foreign player in a match who is actually a hardman

Will be awkward if the lad is allowed to play for ENG now, he will feel unwelcome:56:

Bunch of non-English born lads around, such as Sterling, Zaha, etc. How are they going to feel sitting next to that little racist in the training room.

English players should play for England. You should have some connection to the country you play for. That is not a racist statement.

It's been taken out of context.

ffs when we played Wales there was 7 Englishmen playing...

Players should play for the country they are born in and the only exception should be if that person's country doesn't have an FA or is war-torn etc.

Im not sure that I agree with this. I know a lot of lads born in Japan, but NOBODY in Japan considers them Japanese, even just to humour them on.

You should play for the country you feel the most connected to and of course have the right to play for legally.

That said, I hold a bit of contempt for some of these players who, as soon as they meet the residency requirements for a country they've immigrated to, join the national squad. They have no familial or cultural relationship with that country. There is no connection and the right to a cap is barely there, and isn't there, in many sensible countries. They should represent the country they have a real bond with - wherever they came from.

That's not what Wiltshire said though. I agree you should have some connection but all Wiltshire said was "English" he didn't even say Englishborn and I don't think he really knew what he was saying. I agree it is a non story. Wiltshire wasn't making any big statement and it shouldn't really be news.

Nice sentiment but completely worthless as a criteria....Players will do anything to advance their careers especially if they come from lower nations that will never realistically qualify for WC etc.
