Good Horror films are hard to come by these days. Most of the big releases over the past couple of years haven't been great i.e. Paranormal Activity, Insidious, Sinister etc. Funnily enough, most of them are very similar.

So I thought it would be good to make a thread devoted to horror films! If you have seen any really enjoyable horrors over the last few years, name them here so we can all watch them.:icon_mrgreen:

I bought Sinister at the weekend on dvd- going to give it a watch tonight I think.

I also seen Martyrs recently- one * up horror film. A couple of Roman Polanski's films, The Tenant and Rosemary's Baby are classics as well and great horror.

Ah horrors, definately my favourite film genre. Watch about 3 a week and yeah most are exactely the same as the others. Last night though i watched The Conjuring on XBMC and its one of the better horror films for a long time, very spooky and not over the top like all these possession ones where peoples limbs are contorting all over the shop, very boring!!!! I know hundreds of good films, 2 which stick in my head from years back is John Carpenters In the Mouth Of Madness with Sam Neill, thats a weird * sort of film and Dead End from 2003 is another up there in my faves. Depends what sort of horror you like, spooky like The Others, REC etc or blood thirsty slashers like the oh sooooo boring SAW series. Theres hundreds I could mention, one whats recently been released whats worth a look is Dyatlov Pass Incident. If i find any real good ones al post on here mate.

    Hail Hail

Only horror film I sat through was the exorcist. Wanted to turn it off but I forced myself to watch. For me the problem with horror movies is that the * ones are boring and the good ones are too scary.

I went to see the original Zombie Flesh Eaters and they had Toolbox Murders on as well.
Excellent films. Brilliant getting into those films at age 14.
    Also really like Battle Royale.
Would love it to be real. Sort out some of the little thugs that go to school nowadays.:icon_mrgreen:

A low budget one that a few of us were talking about in the movie thread that we all agreed was good is Grave Encounters. Dont know if you're into the found footage style but its has some pretty good reviews.

    I'm not picky.
One of the best horror films I've seen for a good while was Sinister. Absolutely loved that one. I enjoyed Insidious when it was released a couple of years ago as well and will be watching that again when Insidious 2 comes out. Mama was another good one I really enjoyed as well.

This a pretty decent one too if you're into films covering the "lost footage found" genre -

Forced to watch Texas Chainsaw 3D,ended up sympathizing with a blood drenched psychotic serial killer who was wearing a couple of faces.

If you're in to horrors you'd probably enjoy it.I thought it was just * repulsive tbh.

The Descent is a quality horror. The sequel to it is * though.
