    There aren't many, but what cover songs do you think are better than the originals? I'll start with Jimi Hendrix's cover of Bob Dylan's All Along The Watchtower

    Prefer Dylan's. Same with all of Dylan's songs that are covered, I prefer them when it is his own versions.

    One I can think of is Sinead O'Connor - Nothing Compares to You.

    There are not many, but there are a few that, even theough the originals are amazeballs in their own way, the covers just transcend & completely own it. As the OP posted, as much as Dylan is a genius lyricist and despite neither he or Hendrix being particularly fine vocalists, with Jimi's All Along the Watchtower he still manages to take Dylan's original to a whole other place.
