I was reading yesterday that Kayal is only on £7000 a week, and Izzy is getting £5000, which I thought seemed very low. Does anyone know how much our other first team players earn?

That's enough money a week for any job.

If freddies on 20k and Kayal is on 7k, thats very unfair.

I would assume that these players have been given relatively low :)rolleyes:) wages for the first season....and probably wage rises written in to their contracts after them playing 1 full season and possibly winning the championship

tbf kayal and izzy came from nowhere so these are reasonable if not good wages for unknowns in the spl, but just think of the new contracts in the summer?? lets say they wont be short of a bob or 2, but more than deserved we all agree eh?

Aye because we knew when we signed them they was going to be excellent sorry but 7k and 5k a week for players untested from a new league is fine , both deserve new deals now but them wages was fine in the first place . both should be given new deals on 15k a week for me.

That's the way it should be 1st season instead of throwing crazy money at players.

    Yes true.

Our highest is 20k approx. and that's ledley and brown with maolney not far off (My dad works at parkhead btw) from what he tells me. He heard that Kayal's agent was trying to up his wages but kayal wasnt too fussed! Which can only be good.

Up izaguirre's next season though. Get rid off deadwood hopefully at the end of the season and open up the wage bill

absolultey 100% agree with u mate, but i would worry that the temptation for top 10 EPL teams, who may be able to offer 4 or times the 15K p/w wage with the possiblility of european games will be too much for us to compete with.

I will however use this to express that i think that Kayal seems to be utterly loyal to the Celts. I dont know what it is but when i see him play, especially against the H*ns, i see pure passion in his play. And today when Commons scored he droppped to his knees AFTER the celereation to the fans and roared for us... Cant see him being tempeted away (although business on the clubs part may overide this!!)

matbe just me but im happy as a pig in shoute with this Bhoyo!!

It * me off the amount of money being thrown at players before they even put the shirt on! They should earn a wage for the effort they put in not just for turning up!

Low wages means we can increase the length of their contract with improved wage terms.

Regardless of what people think about the wages that our players get, the question was what they do get. Does anyone know?

Maybe we could pay them through some sort of trust fund. That would save on tax and stuff, bump their wages up without costing us any more money.
