Has to be WGS for me, purely down to his success.
MON comes second for me, great team, great memories but WGS had a bigger cherry on top.

you talk of martin o'neill giving us great games but i dont think i have ever experienced emotion at a football game like the night we won 3IAR at Tannadice. Just unbelievable and what a moment when big jan stuck his napper on the ball to win the league. That night had everything - Aberdeen's 2 goals, us winning 3 titles in a row for Tommy, helicopter flying overhead. Those memories will live forever

my own personal favourite had to be TB, some of the football was a joy to watch and i firmly believe given time he would have been in the job till he sadly left us, but WGS and MON were quality, barnes and macari for worst

Srachan presided over us while we went from a team that could compete with the top half of the english league and left us with a team that would struggle to stay up in the EPL,also on his watch, rangers were abysmal

Win Jansen deserves a special mention for stopping ten in a row

but it has to be Mrtin O Neil. What i wouldn't do to have a manager of his calibre at the helm again!

WGS's record is unimpeachable, and second only to Jock Stein imo. He rebuilt the team after Mon's two league losses to Rangers, and delivered to us Three in a Row, Two Last CL 16 places, and various silverware.:shamrock:

tommy burns for me, i started supporting celtic when i was i think 12 when TB had just taken over used to love watching the team play back in those days.

tommy was very unlucky at the time as the huns had a really good team and who can forget the "flying pig" goram back then

Pretty weird that the manager who was least successful (despite the big money EPL singings, inheriting Henke, Stan, Lubo, Lambo etc) is way ahead.

Domestically: Three in a row, three out of four titles -WGS wins

Europe (big boys competition): 2 last 16 -WGS wins

:50::50::50: got to say I am very pleasantly surprised by how much appreciation WGS is getting on this thread. I think it has taken a little distance for people to appeciate what he achieved while the wage bill was slashed and big signings of the MON were largely a pipedream. WGS had the toughest brief and was the right man (surely the only man who could have done it?) at the right time. Have always felt once WGS becomes part of history he will be rememered as a bit of a magician for achieving what he did in tough times.

Although I loved watching O'Neils side better, it has to be WGS.
