Could a celtic premiership work
I know this would probably never happen. But would a celtic premier league with irish, welsh, and scottish teams competing work any better than our current structure?

It could work, but the league would still be a 2 horse race between us and the huns, plus what would be the attraction in it, who would sponsor it, how would it affect Champions League qualification

Too right, I wouldn't be suprised if some super-rich Arabs got involved in setting that up.

Would it boost the profile of our clubs?
Would wee see viewing figures rise?
Would we see any clubs becoming much bigger?
I think if it was done right and marketed properly it could work.

On the 3rd point I think there could be some real emphasis put on 1 or 2 Welsh and Irish teams to step up along with the nationalist implications.
But that's not a guarantee... and it'd be a lot of bother (risk) with little to no major benefit (profit.)

I don't see it ever hapening not just because UEFA would never allow it to happen but as even if say an Irish team or 2 really had a go it still doesn't really change the picture greatly and would not affect finances to any great extent.

Whats the point? Welsh teams woudl hardly be glamour ties and Irish teams are a significantly lower standard that the SPL. A lot of hastle for away fans for nothing. The only way that woud ever be possible is if Irish football rationalised into less but bigger teams and supporters there stopped following UK teams en-masse. Cant see it. An small countries Atlantic league or cup with the best two or three teams from Portugal, Scotland, Belgium, Holland and Denmark. That would probably feel a bit like the Uefa cup but would be an imporvement in SPL action. Maybe jist do it as a four round Atlantic cup along these lines instead of entering the Scottish league cup.

Yeah, I agree with what others are saying. The Irish and Welsh leagues aren't on a par with the SPL and I feel that a Celtic Premiership would be a bigger laughing stock (in England, anyway), than our current league.

wouldn't be good for us to make our irish homeland fanbase choose between us and their local teams, IMO
