See Rangers missed out on a bumper tie wi Sampdoria, after they wouldve lost to Aalborg, if they'd had a good day against Kaunas.

Don't fancy Moterwell's chances despite the name of their opponents.

Napoli tie should be a cracker.

i just realised benfica are in it. glad we're not playing them in the CL this year, good side.

anyone else think there should be seedings in the draw? seems a shame either benfica or napoli will go out so soon

Some good sides in the UEFA Cup this year Milan, Ajax (Sno will be a star) etc. Hope Motherwell manage to beat Nancy though I think they'll struggle.

Some really interesting ties there , possibility of an upset or 2 , Villa got an easy tie by the looks of it , Liege should beat Everton imo , Motherwell will struggle against Nancy ( hard team , even if they do play in pink ) , Spurs v Wisla could be one to watch .

I would rather it went back to cup format , home and away legs , best team wins , after all it is a cup competition . That could be where the seedings could come into play , possibly with seeded teams coming in at the 2nd round stage

i liked that better too. we had some amazing nights at parkhead when it was over 2 legs. i think the fact that 4 teams from some countries are in the CL has killed the uefa cup though

Yes mate , still do the groups , just have to whittle the teams down to 40 , I think it is

Yes mate , i agree with your point on the 4 teams , they are changing the format though ,starting in the season 2009-10. The biggest change is that there will be a group stage with 12 groups of 4 (in a double round robin) instead of 8 groups of 5.

Although it doesn't really affect the ( too many teams aspect ) at least they will play each other H and A , which I think is a bit fairer
