FC Zenit St. Petersburg have broken the Russian transfer record by signing 25-year-old Portugal midfielder Danny from FC Dinamo Moskva for €30m

After successful conclusion of negotiations with fc Dinamo Moscow, FC Zeni signed midfielder Daniel Miguel Alves Gomes, better known to public as Danni.
Danni was born on the 7th of August 1983 in Caracas. He started playing fotball in Venezuela. At age of 15 he, with his family, moved to Portugal and played in junior team Maritimu Funchal, from 2000 - in the first team. Later on he was sold to Sporting Lisbon, but returned on loan back year later. Danni is counted to be one of the most perspective players of Portugal. On his accunt there are participations in the U21 and Olympic teams of Portugal. On the European U-21 Championship in 2004, Danni won the bronze with his team.

Shocking innit? its the most expencive transfer in the world so far this year.
Danny had a point in his contract with Dynamo saying that anyone wishing to sign him before the contract expires would have to pay the €30 mil fee. that was meant to keep the potential customers away until Dynamo decided to sell him for the price they wanted. and he has played there for the last 4 years since they payed 2 mil for him in 2004.
What Zenit did was they just brought the fucking 30 mil and signed him without even asking for Dynamo's permission. They are sponsored by Gazprom which is not a private but a national corporation with unlimited finance funded by oil sales as well as taxpayers money. this caused a huge resonance in russia. Dynamo fans applied for investigation to financial authorities as its basically their best player stolen using there own money. fucking ridiculous innit?
