Barwick set for FA exit
Football Association chief executive Brian Barwick is to leave his post the end of 2008.
The news leaked just as England's friendly with Czech Republic was about to start at Wembley on Wednesday evening.
There has been no public comment from the Football Association, but it is understood that further details will soon be revealed.
Barwick was appointed chief executive in November 2004 and officially began in the role the following January.
He played a key role in the appointment of former manager Steve McClaren and current boss Fabio Capello.
Barwick's exit would see the FA searching for their seventh chief executive in 10 years.
