Other Leagues Finish Up Today
Anyone else following some of the other football leagues that are finishing today? I just finished watching Werder Bremen knock off Bayer Leverkusen 1-0. Leverkusen went from 4th place to 7th and won't have any european football next year. Werder Bremen qualify directly for the CL and Schalke clinch a 3rd round qualifying place in the CL. Hamburg and Wolfsburg get the two UEFA Cup spots.
The French league ends later today and the FA cup is going on right now. Anybody else following any of these matches?

Looks like Shakhtar Donetsk have won the Ukrainian league again and are in the 3rd qualifying round of the CL. The runner up Dynamo Kyiv will be in the 2nd round. Here's the teams that have qualified for next year's CL so far (in case anyone is interested).

I follow Ligue 1 off and on, but hadn't checked out the table lately and to be honest, there is an incredible amount of drama today.
1 - Lyon, 76 points (+35 goal differential)
2 - Bordeaux - 74 points (+27)
3 - Nancy - 60 points (+14)
4 - Marseille - 59 points (+12)
5 - Lille - 56 points (+13)
6 - Saint-Etienne - 55 points (+9)
7 - Rennes - 55 points (+2)
8 - Le Mans - 53 points (-2)
...
16 - PSG - 40 points (-9)
17 - Toulouse - 39 points (-7)
18 - Lens - 39 points (-9)
In terms of Europe, first and second make the CL group stages, while third will play in the third qualifying round. Fourth and fifth advance to the first round of the UEFA Cup.
Lyon is going for its seventh straight title, while Bordeaux last won the title nine years ago.
At the bottom, PSG is in danger of being relegated (18-19-20 go down) for (I believe) the first time in history. Meanwhile, Toulouse is in danger of an incredible drop from finishing third last year to possibly being relegated this season.
Here is a list of the games with implications:
Lens v Bordeaux
Saint-Etienne v Monaco
Auxerre v Lyon
Nancy v Rennes
Toulouse v Valenciennes
Marseille v Strasbourg
Metz v Le Mans
Sochaux v PSG
Lorient v Lille
Wow, all but one game (Nice v Caen) have implications. And the games are all due to start right now (50 after the hour).

I just want to say that this is crazy. Tons of goals all over the place - if I were to post updates, it would probably change by the time I was done writing the post. I would just say that if you're reading this, see if you can watch games and/or follow live stats. About 15-20 minutes to go in each game.
By the way, the title is pretty much decided with Lyon up 3-0, but qualifying for Europe and the relegation battle are really intense right now.

32 goals scored so far in 10 games. And I thought Ligue 1 was low scoring ...

I was just watching a french channel on sopcast that had all the matches playing. They kept updating each game whenever something happened, so much action in these matches. Very exciting stuff. PSG was saved from relegation. Marseille are in the champions league qualifying now and Nancy gets bumped down to the UEFA cup. Lillie loses out on European football, while St. Etienne also gets to the UEFA cup as well. Lyon of course wins the championship and I think that just about covers everything.

Wow, that was insane. 43 goals in 10 games.
Lyon won the title with a 3-1 away win over Auxerre.
Marseille took the third and final Champions League place by leapfrogging Nancy, winning 4-3 at home over Strasbourg, while Nancy fell 3-2 at home to Rennes.
Saint-Etienne overtook Lille for the final UEFA Cup spot, destroying Monaco at home 4-0, while Lille drew 1-1 away to Lorient.
Lens is taking the drop as PSG won 2-1 at Sochaux, Toulouse won 2-1 over Valenciennes at home and Lens drew 2-2 at home with Bordeaux.
