i think loaning him back to Hamilton would encourage his growth more than he would at Celtic Park.
...hopefully we include it in the deal so we get discount

By all accounts he's said to be a really hot new prospect.......I wouldn't laugh this one off as the midfield is the engine room of our team right now. He could easily step in to my way of thinking

I'd take him in a heartbeat. I've not seen what the big fuss is about yet, but there's no smoke without fire. Great that he's a Celtic supporter.

I'd take him and as has been suggested above if he's not likely to get into our first team straight away send him out on loan back to Hamilton for even 6 months.

Well when they're talking in the region of 10k per week for an 18yr old I think they will want to keep him at Parkhead
Celtic's £10k-a-week offer to land Hamilton Accies starlet James McCarthy
May 14 2009 By Anthony Haggerty
CELTIC are set to make Hamilton star James McCarthy the highest-paid teenager in Scottish football history.
Record Sport understands the Parkhead club are willing to pay the 18-year-old close to £10,000 a week.
And that has promoted them to the head of the queue of clubs chasing the starlet.
Hamilton have already dismissed Portsmouth's offer of £400,000, as revealed by Record Sport but Celtic could benefit because McCarthy wants to go to Parkhead.
It emerged last night that the player would prefer a move to the current SPL champions rather than Tottenham, Middlesbrough or Portsmouth.
Last night McCarthy's agent Willie McKay said: "James knows there is interest from England, but he's made it clear he would love to play for Celtic.
"I'm sure they would be prepared to pay what would be a lot of money for a teenager."

A fantastic signing if it goes through. Young player of the year, and a snip at one million. The fact he's a Celtic man is a big boost, and i for one fully expect this deal to happen. Fucking delighted.
Additionally, a sound financial investment too, which will interest Lawell......the guy could be worth at least 5 times that amount if he progresses like he has done thus far.

 I agree.
Think he's just what we need upfront. He could be a hit at celtic for years to come!

It says his preferred move would be to celtic so if we don't get him it will be our own fault!!
