Hey my first and no doubt my last thread opener in the TFR section.

This is NO rumour but why not put a cheeky wee bid in for Gary Naysmith. I've always liked his attributes to the position which we've looked to put right for some time. If we got him for maybe a quarter of what we paid for Hinkel then I reckon he'd be a good signing.

I know about his injuries which wrecked his Everton career but he's on a good run of games at the moment.

Your thoughts please?

I'd certainly not be averse to the idea...but don't really see it as a progressive move for us - certainly not going to move us forward in any way.

i would welcome any move for him as he is a very good left back better than naylor

I was just interested in finding out the Celtic fans opinions on whether he'd be good for us. As I said if he stays clear from injury he'd be better than what we have and with EPL experience.

If we need a source or anything then I'd appreciate a mod moving this thread of course. Cheers

and to answer your question, he would be great for us imo, definetly better than naylor at the moment anyway

and even if he didnt walk straight into the team, at least competition for LB slot would be healthy and it would give naylor something to sweat over

I'm not a Naylor hater by any means, but I've been impressed by Naysmith's last few games for Scotland against a good level of opposition.

I'd hate it if the huns signed him.

Think it wouldn't be a terrible buy, but i think we need a long term solution.

Uhm, not in a billion years.

Not good enough, that would not be any progress for us. We should not buy mediocre, pretty old players without any prospect ahead. Get some fucking money and buy left defender who will make difference in european cups, and that would not be either Naysmith or Robinson. Naylor, O'Dea, Wilson, even Robson can play on left in SPL games. We need somebody much better for cups.

in that case we need about 8 players
