Sam Baldock from MK Dons
Celtic boss Gordon Strachan is leading the chase for MK Dons' exciting striker Sam Baldock - the first home-grown product at the 'franchise club'.
Strachan's spies are tracking the 19-year-old hitman who has scored three times this season, including the winner against Norwich City in the Carling Cup giant-killing.
Baldock (right) made his debut at 16 but has become a first-team starter in Roberto Di Matteo's side this season. He is also the first local player to come through the ranks at Milton Keynes.
Baldock has also been collecting admirers in England, but the Glasgow giants are now hot on his trail - with Strachan expected to make a personal check before offering the player a dream move in January.

That's all well & good but we need quality players for the present not for 3 or 4 years down the line if the lad has got any sense he will stay put where he will actually get a game every week strachan has got an irritating habit of signing young players then just puts them in the fkn closet done it with deek riordan Ben Hutchinson koki aswell, duz my nut right in lol

This is all well and good but i just dont see us gaining anything from signing players like this.
If i had the choice i would rather not have signed Hutch, Koki and McCourt and signed just one player that would be in contension for a 1st team place.
Surely we are a big enough club to nurture our own young talent without poaching players with debatable potential from below average english teams

Is the idea of a scout not to find players who arent in the limelight? Those who are perhaps rough diamonds?
Any idiot can tell you Fernando Torres is good, or that Cristiano Ronaldo is a decent player.... scouts are the people that find these players before anyone else.
I dont care if Celtics scouts are in Ireland, Malawi or Bangkok, thats their job, to find someone out of the ordinary, within buget and of some quality.
Stop being so negative... had you heard of Henrik or Lubo prior to them signing? I'm not comparing this lad to any of the above but come on, get a grip you cannot critisise scouts for looking for talents
