Strachan will no doubt have told him he is not going to walk straight in to the team. Credit to the guy that he has accepted that and come to fight his way in. Looks a quality player and i don't think it will be too long before he is a regular. I think Mick is the one who should be looking over his shoulder. Loovens has pace , something we sorely lack in our CB's.

You think big MICK should look out lol lol lol sorry but Caldwell has only had about 8 good games for us since he joined and he has cost us more goals in the champs league than he has help stop so i think it will be Caldwell who should look out tbh

aye exactly. he's at least as good as our current two, and a decent step up from Bobo and O'Dea. Now at least we have three proper legitimate CB with a chance of playing the two positions. He'll want to play cause he's been a mainstay with Cardiff, so hopefully he gets stuck right into training, Mac and Caldwell know they need to keep on their toes and keep raising their games. Overall makes a lot of sense. If one of our top two drops in form or get injured, we have a proper replacement. I like a lot of what I hear about him. Overall the addition is good for the team. Hasn't just supplanted a player, instead has forced a higher level of play. Gets more out of everyone that way, makes a good deal of sense. Hope it works out.

what shirt number do you think he will be given? i know Wiki says '22'. but there has been no official word what number he's been given. personally, i hope he gets Mjallby's '35'.
