Hérita Ilunga from Toulouse

Yesterday the French media reported that Keven Keegan's Newcastle United were interested in the left-back from Toulouse, Herita Ilunga.

Today they report that the Scottish champions Celtic are also preparing a bid, having pulled out of negotiations for Gabriel Tamas, and having been refused by Marko Basa in favour of a move to Russia.

The 26 year-old told reporters yesterday: "Toulouse understand my wish. It is to play in the Premiership, to play in the best league is everyone's dream.

"I also need to think about my family, I have to provide for them like all Africans do when they make it.

"However, I want to leave in good spirits with their blessing, so hopefully they are talking and it will be fine, I think. I never cause trouble so my bosses will understand."

Toulouse coach Alain Casanova admitted that the defender was unhappy, but refused to be drawn on whether he would be leaving soon: "He has said things, but they are his feelings at the beginning of the season.

"It is a long season. Let's see how things move during August."

His quote would seem to suggest that he would prefer to move to England rather than Scotland, but francefootball have said he is a priority for Celtic, which is not surprising considering their luck in the market so far this summer.

If you read the post you will see they have taked it from the french football site "francefootball", and not FootyLatest's own story.

But. I don't say it's any true. I just want to bring the latest rumours to everybody who could be interested.

Actully, I don't hope it's true.

what does that new link prove? that Newcastle where reported as interested 3 days ago.

"francefootball" is that not the same website that reported we had big £5.5million for a player a couple of days ago when we had apparently already had a fee of £4.5Million agreed?

Come on guys, give the guy a break. He had a source for a rumour and posted it. You're going to frighten off people from posting what they find out.

It's up to the reader if they wish to discount it.

Thanks for posting it christian!

In the first story there wasn't mentioned a price for the player, so I posted the other story because of the mention of the £2m.

It's difficult to discuss a player if we don't know how much he will cost, but now we could have an idea.

i would prefer Toulouse's other left back, Mathieu. he would be class for us and i think he is only 24ish.

We don't want a defender that KK rates, we already have McGeady.

Ilunga? I'd take him. Both are good on PES

BBC say we are putting in a £3 million bid in for him. I'd take him.
