£7m for a guy that is 30, not a 30 goal a season striker, and a guy that could not lase Sutton's boots, i would bite your hand off, if we put the money to good use. for £7m we could get better than jan in my opinion.

anyone that doesnt like jan vennegoor of hesselink doesnt know football. Period.

Theres more to a striker than speed. He setup mcdonald probably a dozen+ times last season. And his goal talley.

Would not sell him for 10 million pounds

plus he has shown many times he loves celtic, i'd rather that than some more expensive striker who would jump ship whenever given the chance.

If you think he doesnt love celtic, meet the guy then tell me that.

"good luck getting home tonight"

I never said i dont like him, stuck up for him many a time. but for £7m at his age if true, its too good to turn down.

But i will still stick by what i say, he could not lase Chris Sutton's boots.

Exactly keep him the goal he scored in the last minute against the huns destroyed rangers and has made them play the way they are playing the now and also he will get a 25+ goals this season easy

List me names of who we could get for 7million that's better than JVOH. I dare you.

No chance!

as its speculation and rumour i'm dismissing this and JVOH will start the season with us, thank god. The guy has scored a lot of important goals for us that money just cannot buy in today's footballing climate and i don't think he could 'easily' be replaced, sorry but for all Samaras might be a good player he is no replacement for JVOH merely competion to improve his game and perhaps give us something different when Jan is having no luck up front whoch happens to all strikers....

shover yer 7 million...if its at all plausible....

His game is definitely up after being involved with Holland, it's showing in his all round game, movement, positioning and he's finishing with confidence, I've a feeling this is his season.

If he is fit he will score 25 min in the league. Remember that we still have a pretty young inexperienced team. Jan is one of the few that has been there and done it. That is invaluable.

7m is good money for a player from te SPL but getting less and less unusual. The thing is, when we sold Stan to Villa for the same WGS needed the money to buy 4-5 players as he had to replace an entire team when he arrived. We aren't so desperate for the meony now.

The question is - can we find a player as good as what Jan does, not just on the pitch but WGS making him vice captain shows what faith he has in him, for the 7m?

Considering his age it is good money but Jan could be at the club playig at his peak for another 3 years min.

Who could we get who would want to mover here?

I dont make value's up for players, but for £7m am sure there is plenty of people. am no going to go onto football manager like some people on here.

all am saying is for a guy that is 30, £7m is a great price, always stuck up for big Jan, when people have slated him.

He has really impressed me in pre season, comitted to the cause as he always is, but £7m for a 30 year old is alot of money, and it has to be considered,.
