This carry on makes the Tamas saga look like a routine bosman transfer.

I hope he moves to a Championship side or struggling Premiership team and that's the last we hear of it tbh.

When did Maloney claim he was bigger than the club....or even suggest it. He wanted to try out another league..he has every right to do that.

I don't remember him saying that at all. that he wanted to try out a diffrent league.
I do however remember him fucking us about for 6months over a contract.

I actually hope he comes back - maybe in January when Mizubo / McCourt have been assessed a little bit more. Undoubtedly the guy has talent, and if PL was to do one of his cut-price deals which he seems to specialise in, then we it could prove to be an axcellent move for him AND us.

Face it - we could get noone of his quality in the world for the reported £1 million (assuming its that).

Another potentially controversial point I have to make is - does playing for Celtic mean you HAVE to be a die-hard supporter and effectively throw cash away from your career for the sake of sentimentality? For me as a Celtic supporter obviously, but the boy's from Aberdeen....

Well I've not been keeping 100% upto date with this rumour but I thought £1 million was the most often repeated quote?? If not how much?

Incidentally, my dislike of him has nothing to do with morals or backstabbing or the fact he left us when we nursed him through injury. I genuinely believe he is nowhere near the level McGeady and Naka are.

No, I don't think anyone here has said players should forsake money or aspirations. But there's ways to leave and ways not to. He burned his bridges.

I believe there were rumors earlier of us sending them Naylor + 2m for him. I don't know where anyone has ever dreamed up 1m straight, but they're having a laugh.

1 million is quoted on message boards purely because thats what they paid for him... even though they could have waited 6 months and get him for nothing they paid celtic a compensation.

when the talks of naylor going there it was naylor plus 1million quid. so about 3million they want.
