Yes back in June he was linked with us, Galatasaray and Fulham, but he said that he would prefer Celtic of these three. Haven't heard anything new about this player linked to Celtic before today.
But still. It's only FootyLatest. Not the best source in the world...

That sounds pretty promising, in truth - esp if he HAS in fact pissed of Anceloti...
WOuld be delighted to see a player of his calibre at CP.

I think he'd be a good signing. I know he's 32 but still get a good couple of years out of him at least

I've got a niggling feeling Simic will be our new LB.

I think he's clearly better as centre back.

Don't disagree with you, but we've not been heavily linked to a LB and simic can certainly play that position. I can't see us changing both CB's and the simic thing refuses to go away.
As I said it's only a feelintg.

got to agree. wouldn't want him here as a left back. i would much prefer him as a back-up centre back. hopefully this deal doesn't depend on the failure of a Tamas or Basa deal. would like to see McManus, Caldwell, Basa/Tamas, Simic, O'Dea and then Kennedy, when he returns in Jan, to battle it out. if everything works out, we would have the strength in depth to let Kennedy stay at Norwich to get a full comeptitive season under his belt.

Lot of money to pay in wages for a back up though..
I really hope this is not code for "no tamas, no basa, but we'll get this guy in for the last 2 years of his career at the top level"

I don't want the guy full stop. Every game I've seen him play for Milan, he's either started or came on as sub and played RB. He's never looked very impressive.

He's okay as CB, but not in the air. We need a tower to cover for him.

I'd rather have Basa or Tamas I think, alhough I havent really seen much of them. Its not the age of Simic that I have a problem with, the Italian clubs keep there players fit as fuck, look at Maldini, Cafu, Costacurta etc, its just that he hasnt really mega impressed me when I have seen him. Still, I trust in Strachan and Lawell, especially after the turnaround last season.

He's actually very good mate, but not as a left back. He's also now more suited to right back having been out of the firing line for pretty much the whole season. The guy is mature, but boy is he super, super fit. He's got a Gianfranco Zola style attitude that means he's rarely injured and always 100% sharp.
Unfortunately though, this is just a rehash of an old story. Since then, he and Ancelotti made up because Maldini was retiring (again) and Milan didn't want to buy another defender. Then, Maldin came out of retirement (again) and Simic got annoyed because it meant another season on the sidelines.
He will leave, but where is the question, unfortunately I don't think it will be Celtic. If it was though, he'd be a very, very solid signing.
