We are talking about a guy that doesnt have to work another day in his life. If he left he would still prob b getting at least £10k a WEEK!! So please stop speaking about the guy as if he is on the breadline and he is just honouring his contract. He is money grabbing. Plain. Simple. It shows that he has no real desire to play football..
I dis-agree with this post, money is the number 1 priority for the vast majority of footballers. The days of loyalty have long passed, if a player can get considerably more money to play at a similar level elsewhere, they will jump ship without a thought.

Your last sentence -In Bobo´s case he does have a desire to play, something he has shown every time he has been called upon. The guy is always fit and 100% committed when given the opportunity.

He has still to be offered comparable money elsewhere and he has also not been offered long term security, only 6 month loan offers notably from Sunderland last season and 1 year contracts this year from a few clubs.

To label Bobo a mercenary or in your case a money grabber is just ludicrous. He wants to play top level football with Celtic and if you asked the majority of fans they would tell you he should be doing just that. Obviously WGS sees it differently and prefers other options however there has never been a public fall out between Bobo a WGS.

Until a club pays what the big man is worth then no one should have any animosity towards Bobo least of all such fickle fans.

We always say how we have the best fans in the world then theres people like you telling our own players to fuck off, we should stick by him and be true fans its not his fault he is not getting a game.
a legend who loves the club
IF he loves the club why did he whore himself around whilst still under contract to us?
he signed a contract that saw him with a clause to leave on a free after 6months, in that window he then flew out to diffrent clubs trying to get a deal, no one would take him. do you know why?
because he's an old prima donna. he wanted too much money and no one was willing to pay it.
once he realised the clubs didn't want him he parked his arse here in a huff, now REFUSING to leave.
thats not love for the club.
you, sir are in denile.

fact.
i said that before on here and was hit with the same as ellboy said, that everytime he's been called on he's played.
THATS HIS JOB. he has too. if not he is in breach of contract surely and can then get told where to go without a pay off. i.e. sacked.

ellboy do you actually believe a 33year old bobo balde is worth what he's asking? really?
ofcourse we don't know exactly what he's asking but premiership sides and championship sides deem him "too rich" for the club.

To answer your question Tits, yes I do and Celtic must have also felt the same, as they would not have given him such a lucrative long term contract.

Sunderland is the only Premier league club we know about, that has offered Bobo a deal. As you say we don’t know the true ins and outs of any offer but from reports he was only initially offered a short loan period and more recently a 1 year contract. Not much security for what is likely to be his last move. As for lower league clubs, Certain Championship sides especially the ones being linked to Bobo are skint. Birmingham the most prominent to be linked have stated Bobo is not greedy they just could not offer him what he wants.

Yes he is 33 but IMO he still has much to offer and should be playing in our first team. The guy is a man mountain and his fitness can not be questioned he could easily play at a decent level for another 3 seasons.

Your point about him flying out to different clubs is a little mis-leading, he was given permission to speak with Bayern Munich as it was his wish to play for them. However the contract he signed was good for both parties as if he did not get his dream move to a perceived elite club, then he would remain committed to Celtic.

Look he is doing nobody any good by sitting on the bench and for all concerned it would be better to ship him off to pastures new. However until a club comes up with a financial package that befits a player of Balde´s ability then IMO he is correct to stay where he is. You may believe this shows he has little desire to play. However you have no evidence to back that claim up, in fact there is plenty of evidence to the contrary of that belief. He has always been 100% commited when given an oportunity, do you not agree?

He signed his deal at 29 not 33.

BTW we’ve been linked with two veteran defenders this summer in Thuram and Simic. Both players would have commanded a hefty wage. With Simic still being linked to the club and from reading the thread related to Simic on here not many have been negative towards him joining Celtic and none have brought up the issue of wages.

No idea what he’s looking for but for me if he’s not being offered comparable wages to what he’s on now or even a reasonable length of contract? Then it makes little sense to me for him to jump ship to a lower level of football.

What this proves is that most clubs are not a wash with the money we all think they have. As someone with Bobo´s experience on a free transfer you would think there would be a queue of clubs looking to offer him 20-30k a week for 2 years or more.

I guess that’s something we will never know for sure, however I would be very surprised if true.

I mean he’s only got 1 more season left with us, would you not think it would make more sense for Bobo to accept a longer term contract on slightly less of a wage elsewhere.

Its not exactly balde or gravesons fault they are getting paid a bag full of money, they didn't offer themselves the contract.

His wages were increased just before MON left as Bayern Munich were interested in buying him
