If his body and skills were ready t0 wind down then true, but he has been in the same situation for 3 years, from the age of 29, which is not an old age for a centre half.

It's not his fault, we offered him the contract and he is honouring it. But really, to waste the chance as a pro player to play in the EPL when you have your retirement fund is sad.

I'm not the guys biggest fan myself, he has been liable for making big mistakes at crucial times, but people have the tendancy to criticize without knowing the full story.

Agree mate. It is very boring now.

How can people ask if they would downgrade their job and accept less dough? He isnt working in a bank earning £15k a year. He is a professional footballer who supposedley is good enough to play football and get paid. He wanted to play football, I imagine, because that is the ideal job. The money is the secondary reason. We are talking about a guy that doesnt have to work another day in his life. If he left he would still prob b getting at least £10k a WEEK!! So please stop speaking about the guy as if he is on the breadline and he is just honouring his contract. He is money grabbing. Plain. Simple. It shows that he has no real desire to play football..
