Wait and see for Bhoys (teletext 10.06am)

Celtic face competition from Sevilla over a loan move for Barcelona's young midfielder Marc Crosas.

The 20-year-old, who played against Hibernian and Dundee United last week, joined Lyon on loan in January and helped them to a league and cup double.

Crosas told the Scottish Sun: "I am waiting for news. People have spoken about Celtic and Sevilla but everything depends on Barcelona's decision."

Yep it was in the sun today. Good to see this rumour getting plenty column inches which is usually a good sign.

With Barca having another great pre-season in Scotland and the leagues reputation as being quite physical I can see them being happy for him to come here. Also what good would sending him to Sevilla be if they are considered rivals for La Ligua title?

hope this is true, i go to spain alot and have managed to catch a few reserve games, and he looks very .. fiery, he shows great movement flare, variation and hes a great team player. Would be a great signing not so much loan but if we get a transfer deal, i'd pay 3-4 mil for him.

I would far rather we stumped up the benjamins n signed him permanently, put a 20mill buy back claus in 2 keep barca happy, an that way if he turns out shit hot we know we will get a gd price, not a fuckin cheeky english team with their tv money.

I haven't spoken to anyone from Scotland yet, but I am awaiting news. People have spoken about Celtic and Sevilla, but everything depends on Barcelona's decision."

His agent, Ramon Arasa, confirmed: "Both Celtic and Sevilla are now openly having conversations with Barcelona about Marc.
"As yet there is no firm proposal from either side for us to consider, but a short-term move to either club appeals to Marc.
"Barcelona's trip to Scotland confirmed the appetite there is in the country for football and Celtic as a big club have a great history. We now await firm proposals before deciding the next step."

Sounds good to me. Even with Sno (who I rate for the future, like 5 years away), Donati and Hartley, we don't have a proper holding midfielder. Donati's a central mid but is shit defending and gets lost going forward, I like Hartley, he's got he right attitude, but its not a natural position for him. If this guy is your standard European holding midfielder with some fight in him i's say jump on it. We'll reap the benefits in the CL. Stick in a buy later clause a la Sammy, with a Buy Back clause for Barce and we're on to something.

we need a holding midfielder who is natural in the position. If he's even mentioned in the same breath as Xavi then he must be good because Xavi is World Class.

There not natural there though. Neither of them are as good as this guy as holding the ball, staying back. I like Robbo and Hartley, they embody what you need as a footballer mentally. Just think in big European matches, having the technical skill as well would be a better option.
