Sunderland In Aidan bid

Todays Sporting lifes paper talk

Story from the Daily Mirror

Sunderland boss Roy Keane is making a £6million move for Aiden McGeady.

Dont have a problem with EPL teams sniffing round our players, means they and the team are doing well, what does piss me off is the pitiful amounts that the epl teams/english press value Scottish players at.
If the headline said Sunderland planning a 15 mill move, I would still tell them to get tae but at least it wouldnt be so insulting.

its made up. Keano is notorious for paying over the odds for talent from the SPL a la Varga, Gordon, Wallace etc. he he would probably bid too much (eg £45m) for Aiden whom he rates very highly.

The thing is even if the rumours are true there is no way Celtic are even going to give them permission to talk to Aidan for that amount.
Not that Aidan would want to go and play for them anyway

I dont think that ends speculation - it just means if someone really wants him they will now have to pay double compared to 2 months ago (which pretty much means he is staying)

Seriously, do you actually think that Roy Keane has summoned a fuckin Daily Mirror waster to his office to give him this "EXCLUSIVE".

It's a pile of absolute pish and I think you owe Roy Keane and apology.

Maybe Celtic knew bids were being prepared.

Now he is fully contracted, it gives Celtic a massive advantage IF they would even consider selling.

IT would have to be 15 million plus a player for them to even consider any bids.

Agree think Celtic knew clubs would be sniffing, they have just given themselves a big insurance policy by extending his deal. I do think every player has his price though!! Although I hope he stays for a while yet

That's exactly what Keane will have done - he will have issued an invitation to aforementioned reporter, because that's JUST the kind of guy he's like....

Or perhaps not.

Also, Keane leaves all duties in this regard to Quinn anyway, so it's clearly another case of trash journalism.

As for 6 million - if anyone in the world were to believe that, i'd have to locate them a meat hook and a noose in order that they be put out of their misery. He only f^cking signed a new deal last week!!!
