Caldwell bounced back to be our top defender last season no doubt, but there is no harm in him having quality competition to keep him, and McManus for that matter, on their toes.
I belive this could be a "Tactical" ploy on our part to try and push Tamarse , into making a decision
Here is hoping your right and we get at least one of them, tbh i dont know who is better, but hey lets sign both 0ne for 15k a week and the other for 20k a week thats bobo's wages taken care off .

I think we get connected with players who only care about money too often...

the joys of playing in the scottish league.
I read Tamas initially expected around £32k a week, afterall he's probably readin about Grav and Bobo and the wages they're on. If he doesn't accept doubling his money and playing in the Champions League then I'd get rid.

32K need to be earned by bleeding for the holy shirt. He can't have them now... Either he agrees or he quits. No more stalling.

Caldwell had 7-8 good games last season Big Mick was more solid than caldwell and more consistent and if you are happy with a player of caldwells well lets call them skills then sorry our defence is going to continue to be a joke in europe...... we need a top CB and and top LB and then we have the makings of a good good side, midfield is ok, up front maybe another CF and that will be us till next transfer window. Now on to the point of caldwell wanting to stay for life ( who is he kidding ) ok enough said..... i have moaned for long enough..... hail hail and goodnight lol

Rangers Last of the Summer Wine mob, Dailly and Weir will get found out his season for sure. I dont see where all this stuff about needing a new defence is coming from

Totally agree, Im still not sure the defense is good enough, we still lost 27 goals Im sure a few years back we only lost 8 or 9 goals in a season, I dont wont to play down winning the league but rangers where shite and they ran us too close for comfort.

Anyway this Basa chap is not bad came 39th in a poll of 100 best players last season in Le Equipe,Tamas is no were to be seen.
LIGUE 1 2007-2008, le classement des étoiles
Not surprising. Basa was consistent in a team doing better than expected, while Tamas was irregular in a disappointing side. After a poor first months, Tams started showing good things, but remained inconsistent. According to an Auxerre fan he has a good potential, physical with a good technique but lack of concentration, hence prone to mistakes, especially poor clearances. His extra football activities (clubbing, nights spent at illegal poker tables) have also an influence on his play. There was also offcourse that incident with the waiter were he and Mutu battered fuck out of him
I would go with Basa on this one Tamas has some heavy previous - bit of a rocket by all accounts

Sorry mate my mistake missed a digit was 18 during the oneill years but that is not counting european, leaugue cup and cis cup games. I must also eat some humble pie as the defensive record this year did improve last years by a good few goals, I cant beleive that !
I think its because every time I watched last year I always thought we were going to leak goals.

Because their defense was the only thing you really could talk about.
