i cannot see Celtic pulling the plug on a difference of £2k a week.

theres two possibilities. either we just couldn't agree a fee with Auxerre or Tamas' representatives are trying to make him sound co-operative and blaming us for the collapse of the deal so he can continue to have his options open if another club comes in.

personally, i think its the latter.

The reason for this imo is that his agents are trying to get him a bigger wage so they get a bigger slice of the pie and other clubs see we are keen on him so they then offer him more money, and imo if it is only money and not football reasons he is not here then we dont want him anyway we want players who want to come and play for our GREAT club.( and i know money talks)

If Tamas was a priority signing he should be a bhoy by now, we have once again taken too much time over a transfer. Just look at other clubs around Europe making signings they don’t piss about for long (unless it’s a major purchase i.e. Ronaldiniho) they go out and get their targets.

Our first priority seems to be value instead of pushing the boat out to buy our top target. It dosen´t exactly make us an attractive proposition for other quality players.

as strachan says the EPL has made it near imposible to get a decent player in on decent wages, afterall the EPL are paying way over the odds for transfers and wages , wot chance do we have when they are paying top dollar for average players?
