Story seems to be making the rounds now, this just came up on Sporting lifes live transfer wire
1749: French newspaper L'Equipe claims Auxerre's Romanian defender Gabriel Tamas is in Glasgow to hold talks with Celtic after they had a bid of 5million euros accepted. Radio Clyde suggests the deal could be completed in the next 24 hours.

He looked quality at the euros, I think he will be an excellent signing if it happens.
One wee word of caution though, Romania played a very defensive game during the tournament so the defenders may have looked better as they had a lot to do.

Who do we think he will displace in the starting 11? I'm assuming Strachan hasn't flipped to the extent of paying £4 million for a sub so that leaves either the club captain, McManus, or Strachan's golden boy Caldwell as the candidates to be relegated from the team. Thoughts?

Excellent let's get this done and dusted he was outstanding at the Euro's and looks the type of defender we have been missing Frank Ribery has had alot of clubs yet i bet some one would have him here in a heart beat ,
Get real ffs this is the best player around for the type of cash we have who the hell do you think we can sign john terry , rio etc ,
