Clagan, I don't wear green tinted specks - just the normal everyday type.

McStay absolutely blows Ferguson out the water, I used to quite like him (Fergie) in his prime - I remember him playing a blinder against Dino Baggio at Parma.

But to even think about comparing him to the Maestro, is frankly absurd.

Of course you have your own views, but mine are in no way affected by Fergie playing for Rangers - he's just never been anywhere near the level McStay was in his prime, he was a good player though.

hairytoes the maestro is my favourite hoops player of all time but i think fergie was an excellent player in his prime before he started only passing the ball sideways, i'm not enjoying saying that fergie is as good but i'm just being honest.

as you rightly said we're both entitled to our opinions

you cant say that mc stay is categorically better because of a video. imo fergiehun at his peak was an excellent creative midfielder and was the second best player in the SPL before he went down south

he was a very good player, still is on occasion. When he hits top form he runs rings around our current CMs. He even did it in the 1st half of the last OF game before Hartley nailed him.

Rangers are not half as bad in player quality as often painted - McGregor, Hutton (before he went), Cuellar, Ferguson were all really excellent for them and Thomson, Davies, Darcheville, Weir were good for them too. They were wrecked at the end of the season too. I wouldnt underestimate them although their signings so far show a lack of ambition. If we dont make a couple of qualty signings this close season I expect it to be as tight again.

eh

could not disagree more, celtic did have a choice not to offer him a new contract until he was fully fit decided to reward him with more money and security

i dont want him near celtic park for two reasons

1.. the above

2.. not good enough

Yes...we gave him a new contract because he was a good player....not because of any so called loyalty. We did that as we knew he would be a good player for us...and he was...and to protect ourselves from him leaving for free.

He then wanted to leave to try elsewhere....no crime.

He is a quality player and will be welcomed back by most.

He does get on the villa bench....sometimes even plays.

Not that easy given the form of their wingers.

a good player would be first pick week in and week out for a side like villa, who at best are an average side, i just dont think he is good enough and name me one player who has returned and been a success??

he has had his chance to become a celtic hero and blew it

I think thats harsh given the form of Ashley Young and agbonlahor who are very pacey players and who play in his positions.

He was good for us before and got player of the year...he would improve us no doubt
