It was on clyde 1's news that Naylor was going to Aston Villa and we were getting Maloney back but in truth they said fuck all about a source and it wasn't even mentioned on the next News Bulletin, so I think it is pish.

I personally think its down to bad attitude and maybe lifestyle with Naylor this season. I actually think he has considerable ability when he is 100% focussed. He was an England u-21 and more importantly he played extremely well in most of our CL games with some crucial tucking in etc. When playing to top form he is EPL standard, maybe even England squad material. I think the main thing that held him back from an EPL career was not quite having enough pace for a league full of serously pacey foreigners and also he is relativley puney and the EPL has a lot of big strong players. However, he showed two seasons back what he can do and he was certainly then well up to a low-mid EPL standard. You cant lose that overnight. I think he looked knackered in many games. He actually looked tired about the face and general appearance which to me is the sign of someone not taking care of himself. I dont often have that feeling about a player not even Deeks.

Yep wasn't too long ago that England squad rumours were flying about. The guy had a bad season, I can't dispute that, but to write him off at this stage is harsh at best.

I wonder as well if Naylor maybe wasn't carrying an injury a lot of last season that hampered him. Bottom line though is a year ago we only had 2 recognised full backs and gambled going into the season with that. It almost cost us when he hit all those injuries at the back last December. The only way selling Naylor is a good idea is if we have a good replcement lined up. Right now Wilson and Doumbe can play at left back as well as right back so we have enough cover. Beyond that I think Naylor is a decent player whom I would be happy to see back for a third season hopefully fully fit and able to get back to the form he showed during his first season with us.

Naylor had a good 10 games, not a good first season.
Very limited footballer.
He cannot PASS the ball.
I'll drive from North Wales to pick him up at Parkhead and drive him to Villa.
As long as he pays for the diesel, have you seen the price these days

Bottom line is he had a class 1st season we all made him out to be a world beater and englands number 1 left back ,
He cant tackle cant find a simple pass and cant cross to save his life 9 out 10 into the stand ,
He cant be settled here with his family still down in England so its best that he moves on as he is picking up a good wage here for doing fcuk all ,
Scored a cracking goal v hibs tho lol.
