Craig Bellamy?
Anyone think it is possible we could sign Bellamy?
He was a MACHINE when on loan here.
He has never since hit that great form.
He really enjoyed his time at Paradise.
I remember before he left the rumour was that if we wanted to make him permenant it would cost 11Million, which we didn't have. I think his price muct be at least half of that and although hes a bit older Im sure he would be prolific here, the fastest player I've ever seen. Remember him destoryin the huns defence hahaha.
So whats the verdict? would he or wouldnt he?

Either way i think he's the 'type' we should be going for, give's us a different option in Europe.

ok what i was getting at is
1) we know he can be a celtic legend, he made the grade here before, he would settle in.
2) We can do a Blackburn. We buy 'damaged goods' on the cheap and he turns into a european superstar. Look at Santa Cruz, 3.5mill one of the top scorers in the league, now waned by the gooners.
Im saying its very hard for a scottish club no matter how big in this day to buy a super star as he is, weve not got enough money to compete.

Not sure mate was great in the short time here, but very injury prone and reportedly on about 80grand a week. would need to accept less than half that to come back to us

I think we could have bought him 3 years ago but it would have taken our entire budget to get him and WGS wanted to buy more than one player.
Depends what the player wants, West Ham would probably pay to have him off the wagebill but it is if Bellamy wants to play in the SPL.
I have a sneaky suspicion that we may well try to get him on a year long loan and pay half his wages.

It wasn't the money. Celtic didn't offer him a deal. At the start of that summer WGS had 5m to spend on the entire team and Bellamy would cost that by himself. Blackburn could afford the 5m and so signed him. He did well there so Liverpool signed him and put him on better wages and then West Ham signed him and put him on silly money.
It shows the effect of financial prudence in the running of the club that we can now go out and spend 5m on a player and expect to be able to afford other players as well.

With all the hamstring injuries that he's picked up I wouldn't be surprised if his pace is dissappearing.
