I,m not goin to ge into where he can play, but if we could give them grav and balde and only pay about 2 million tops then i wiuld say get in there , as we would have a fantastic player who would probs step up his game 100% for the hoops and we would still have a 35 grand wage bill avalable for another top transfer. Not including what we have already budgeted for this season.

That’s exactly right at the moment.

Although the way WGS took the shackles of Naka over the last few weeks of the season was quite revealing, I think. He also made some comments regarding playing a more attacking way around that same time.

It maybe totally wrong but I have a wee feeling our style may change next season especially for Europe. Aiden likes to switch flanks, this new bhoy McCourt seems to like to roam and Naka is also capable of interchange. That would just leave us with one short for upfront McDonald is mobile enough but perhaps not skillful enough or adaptable enough to play that style.

That’s were someone like Faddy could come in, maybe a bit of a leap to make but we seem to have quite a few rotational type players. Perhaps WGS will use them to full effect in some games next season?

I think, if McFadden wasnt Scottish, he wouldn't be getting this hype.

e.g. Miller got hyped out the door by the majority of Scots on here when he signed for us

McGeady doesnt get the praise he should by some Scots because they still hold his international status against him

Like it or not, its a fact

Personaly nationality is not an issue perhaps for some it maybe.

I think though that most fair minded fans have acknowledged a vast improvement in Aidens game. Although for me he had a bad spell from after the Barca home game almost til the end of the season. Tierdness may have been a factor.

Anyhow Aiden and Faddy in the same side could be quite lethal IMO.

I dont care what anyone says, McGeady is a legend in the making.

If the end product improves their is simply no weakness in his game. Pace, skill, comfortable with both feet and the heart of a lion, the amount of times he looked dead on is feet last season but still mangaed to keep throwing the crosses in was unbelievable (just ask Shakhtar Donetsk :-) The biggest reason without doubt we are still champions.

I think given the chance Faddy could become equally as vital to Celtic. He's made it clear he'd run through walls for us.

Unfortunately the english market is ridiculously over-priced, so i cant see it happening.

I saw this on a forum through the newsnow link an entire day ago, but I though it was a joke and kinda still do. I wouldn't get your hopes up to be honest. We'll have to wait and see what happens.

Skysports.com understands James McFadden is set to leave Birmingham this summer.

A number of clubs are targeting a move for McFadden and are hoping to cash-in on Birmingham's relegation from the Premier League by luring him away from St Andrews.
Birmingham, who signed McFadden from Everton, during the January transfer window, know they face a fight to keep hold of the gifted Scot following their fall into the Championship and they could find it hard to resist a big-money offer for the forward.
McFadden made an instant impact at Birmingham scoring four goals in ten starts, but he crucially missed a few of Birmingham's games at the end of the season through injury as they suffered relegation.

Celtic

Celtic are thought to be leading the chase for the 25-year-old with Gordon Strachan a confirmed admirer of the skilful attacker.
The SPL champions tried to sign McFadden during the January transfer window before he made the move to Birmingham and the Scottish titans are ready to rekindle their interest in the former Motherwell man.
A number of Premier League clubs are also thought to be monitoting McFadden's situation and are ready to offer the player a quick return to the top flight.
Sources close to McFadden claim the player is reluctantly ready to move on as he wants to continue plying his trade at the highest level to safeguard his place in the Scotland side.

Very interesting

Now that there is some kind of source besides a forum to back this one, I might allow myself to get a bit more excited about this one.

always been a fan of McFadden since his Motherwell days, and think we all know we missed a trick when we could of bought him for pennies compared to what we'd have to pay for now.

one of the best internationalists our country has, and still only 26.

i fear, however, if we sign him we will not go for another striker (ie Pavlyuchenko). which would be a shame. we would destroy the league with a strikeforce of Pavlyuchenko, McFadden, McDonald and JVoH.

all depends on finances i guess. but if the board want to show the fans, Rangers and europe what we intended to do in the coming seasons, then they would stick their neck out and buy big. i hardly think Pavlyuchenko would be a gamble and we all know what McFadden can do.
