I couldn't give a flying fuck if he was white black or yellow. He's a piss poor player for that money.

One of the top 3 things I dislike about Strachan - he has a FETISH for mediocre huns. Pretty sure he does it just to piss us off.

check these comments from the Burnley supporters board:

tuffite - 'Lafferty doesn't seem to be able to score, his shots are weak and he doesn't seem to be able to make the right choice. This can cost us this season.'

carrickclaret - i really dont think hes a goal scorer what has he really done for us since he came. if he dose go in the summer it wont bother me becoz he wont b missed if he dosnt do enything for the team except hight.

turfmanphil - I have problems with Lafferty, if we had a decent left sided winger, I dont think he would get in the team....(he) always seems to go for glory in front of goal when a simple tap-in or a pass would be the better option; he seems prone to blasting it wide/over the bar etc. I would not be too upset to see him go in the summer.

colin waldron - certainly at this stage of his career is no where near prolific enough and with Gray gone and lets be honest AAs and Coles days numbered, he has a fantastic opportunity to establish himself as a top marksman for Burnley Somehow I dont think he cuts it and I guess Coyle may have accepted that he will go and then bring in someone who poses more of a threat on the opposition goal

carickclaret - if a club wants to pay out 4 million for a player that cant score then suit them selfs i wouldnt even pay out 1 million for him to be honest.

tom law - have been saying this to my mates for the las 6 months, lafferty is rubbish and as soon as Berisha is back hes out of the team and i think we should take the money for him in the summer

Wow. Those are successive posts BTW.

Chris Killen was a 750K mistake he sits in the Reserves. Killen will most probably be moved on if we can find someone to take him.

IMO if we buy Lafferty all that we are doing is replacing a 750K reserve team striker with a one who cost 4 million.

Dunno if anyones posted or read this but a reasonably respected former striker , coach and pundit Steve Claridge gave the following scout report on Lafferty which is decent to read:

Scouting report: Kyle Lafferty, Burnley | Sport | guardian.co.uk

The end bit sums him up as:

Age 20 Born Belfast
Position Winger
Height 6ft 4in
Weight 11st 2lb
From Burnley trainee
Pace 8/10
Heading 8/10
Crossing 8/10
Passing 8/10
Shooting 7/10
Team responsibility 8/10
Valuation £2m

The scout report is pretty positive towards him ending with: Lafferty firmly on the radar now the only surprising thing about him will be if he does not go on to have a very long and successful career.

I know nothing about the guy so don't you go thinking I want to sign him ;)

Kyle Lafferty's agent has stated that Burnley are locked in talks with both Celtic and Wolves.

I believe in giving everyone a chance. He is def not a proven goal scorer but at the same time he plays for a crap team with no attacking flair at all. For N.Ireland the young performs pretty well considering his age and he scores.

I am not trying to compare these 2 players at all but before larsson came to us he was at feyenoord for 4 seasons. In only 1 of those seasons he got into double figures. He Scored 26 in 101 games now that is 1 in every 4. Look how amazing he turned out to be.

I do not aggree with the fee but at the same time that is the market now even for crap players.

All I say is that maybe if we do sign him we should all back him as he is not being signed to score goals but to have mcdonald run off him.

If we dont sign him I would def give Hutchinson the chance to play a few SPL games next season.

I read in one the comments of that article that Lafferty has been employed as a left winger at Burnley due to the severe lack of left-side options - which could explain why his goal scoring record looks unimpressive.
