Dobbin mate, from most of your threads its fair to say your pretty negative, and no fan of WGS. The wee man just won us 3 in a row last 16 of CL 2 years in a row ffs. Lets wait and see who appears in press confrences at parkhead before we start calling for WGS to be sacked for what could be a load of bollocks rumour.

Like most have said. I feel this would be a mistake from the looks of the boy he is not what we need. For almost 4 million surely we can find better than "Laugherty"

the boy is a decent player not celtic class though leave him to the huns, he is a blue nose through and through, as for frei he had his chance to come to parkhead cant see strach signing him with his injury wait till the new year and if hes right make a reduced bid. Then he can prove how much he wants to play for us. hail hail

The problem may not be Frei wanting to come in the past. From what i can make out his club rebuffed any advances for the player even sticking a £20m pricetag on his head.
As for Lafferty, can we not just buy him and give him to the huns tied in a big green bow!

i hope it is a wind up because he's clearly stated he's a hun and that's the only place he'll go if he comes to Scotland.

I would love to know how many games people with strong opinions on Lafferty have actually seen him play. If the efforts made to get him reported in the press then the ginger ghord or his scouts must know something. In the tea cup I trust.

Celtic up laffert bid.......
Celtic have reportedly made an improved bid for in-demand Burnley striker Kyle Lafferty.
The Northern Ireland international wants to move on from Turf Moor and Celtic, Rangers and Wolves are in the hunt for the 20-year-old.
The Hoops made an unsuccessful bid for the player - whom Burnley want around £4 million for - in January.
They have now returned with a £2.75million offer plus £1 million rated Derek Riordan - whom Burnley manager Owen Coyle tried to sign in January - as well as the promise of a friendly match.
But a spokeswoman for the Championship club said: "Nothing has been agreed, no acceptable offers have come in."

He could be mince but hardly any of us have seen him. He is clearly thought of as one for the future (hes 20) and not to be judged on his present club or goals ration right now. WGS must see something special in him and trying to get him before he is worth a lot lot more. I agree its a pretty non-exciting prospect but there has got to be a reason for this determined pursuit. WGS seems to have a policy of gambling on raw very young players who there is a chance of being a future gem. The cash 2.75 million is not much at all by English standards, the sort of money thats even cheap for a championship player. If he doesnt work out we would get a lot of the money back if he was sold back to England so its not a huge gamble. At worse we could make a minor loss (maybe a million?) if we sell him back to a similar club in a year or two. I think that is WGS's thinking. Sounds like a more expensive version of the Sno saga - some think he is mince and others think he could be world class but we just dont know how he will turn out.

My main reason for not wanting him signed is due to his form and his price we can get a established striker for what Burnley are wanting for him.
