Ivaylo Petkov ( Bulgarian: Ивайло Петков) (born December 7, 1975 in Dolni Dabnik, Pleven) is a Bulgarian football player who, as of 2004 was playing for Fenerbahçe. As of 2005, he was playing for Ankaragücü.
Petkov enjoys marauding up the left flank but is rarely caught out of a position and has developed into one of Bulgaria's most consistent defenders.
Recently Petkov has been on trial with Scottish club Celtic but has failed to earn a permanent deal and has returned to Bulgaria ( 8 August 2006).
However there is reported interest from Galatasaray, Hertha Berlin and Willem II to gain the services of the unnattached defender.

o aye a remember now, both he and that other left sided guy peter halmosi were on trial, and both were   suppose if we do get him hell be decent cover for weasel. aye i was gettin him mixed up with milan petkov who rejected us in MONS first season. god why do all bulgarian names sound the same

He's on trial at Celtic now & WGS says he likes him, but just wanted to see if he likes Celtic - in fact WGS was scared of calling the meeting period a "trial" : well what the fuck was it then, an interview?
I think Petkov will be the next signing.
I'm still waiting for a WOW, Bluechip(wrapper) signing - although I think we've done pretty well in the market & it's good to see them coming in early!

I know what you mean Kimbo, but I think WGS likes him & is going to sign him as back up FB, now that Doumbe has fucked off back to France without signing - mind you he might still sign!

He's away back to France WITHOUT signing the contract on offer, he want to stay at Celtic "at the right price", PL is playing hardball, so he might not come back to the table ala Maloney, hence the fact that Petkov is now at the table.
We are moving fast & loose this pre-season, it'll all be over by the end of June, when MoN was just thinking about getting started!!!

well the official transfer market didnt open til midnight (20 mins ago) so we can now buy players out with the spl, whic just means celtic are just getting started, cood u imagine we unveiled bellers and koumas or apppiah, whitever one on monday. they wood need to give a whole bag a pampers to mcoist and smith
