Its Over!!
Might as well announce to you all that my time for drinking the tonic is up. After a long hard discussion with myself I have came to the conclusion that me and my beloved wine have to part. We have been inseparable for half of my life
It all started about 14 years ago as a fresh fish on the council schemes, we were introduced to each other by some random bloke who bought the cargo for us. Since that fateful night our love for each other grew and grew. We would be together most weekends and the odd time through the week and loved each others company. Over the years though, due to my family commitments, we only really seen each other whenever I was going to the games and other random benders. Now, I dunno what happened but over the last while the wine has got to me. Every time we see each other she gets inside my head and in the morning I remember very little of what we done, I forget full games , I can't remember getting home and sometimes even forget where I was.
Now if this is her sick way of punishing me for neglecting her then fine but for my own sake I can't go on. I want the old times back, the times where we were always ok and the times when we had so much fun. I can't see it happening though as I've gave the wine every chance to give me even a glimpse that we can still be as we were, yet it just gets worse.....
SO...its over!
No more wine for the Monk
Oh and while I'm on the subject of leaving a great friend behind I might as well tell you that my other great friend, the tobacco, has been kicked as of today. I have tried to kick her before but she came back after 2 weeks. This time I hope I can get rid of her for good.
I'll need all the support I can to get myself through this sad time.
Hail Hail

Sorry to hear that mate ,sound to me as if you,re best off without her.All those good times you gave her and all she gave you was skint knees and a job cleaning the pan.
I,m sure you,ll be much happier out of it

I feel your pain man, for I too kicked the tonic out six months ago after a 15 year affair, we have cherished memories.

She was best when cold, but she'll always be number one.

she's been a wonderful companion but in the end ,she has had to go
the burden she puts on you is not on , forgetting whole games and not even knowing what you have done that night is too much , she's a selfish bitch ,she's spun you around and in the end you're left vulnerable and dizzy
The best thing is to find an easier companion that will care for you and guide you in the right direction......stick to pints

Its ok just now, I'm bearing up. I don't think it'll hit me till I'm heading along the gallowgate toward Celtic Park with her not by my side. Maybe I can soften the blow by finding a new love, always liked the beer just always went over her head and straight to the tonic.

She's a cruel mistress the tonic, i rarely dabble but when i do she has a habit of taking all your money and leaving you as sick as a dog.
