labyrinthitis
does anyone know or have this condition? my missus has just been diagnosed with it and although its not deathly serious, its causing a lot of sickness and dizzyness and discomfort, any ideas on how to make it a bit easier on her?

It's an imflammatory infection of the ear labyrinths, that are responsible for maintaining balance.

Mother dearest was diagnosed with this about 6 weeks ago dude - f^cking horrible ailment which can often make someone feel as if they wish to carry on no longer! We got the doc in who diagnosed it and issued medication - the dizzyness etc lasted for a couple of days, but the nausea / weakness continued for a while after that. All told it was a couple of weeks till she was 100% again - she's renowned as a hypochondriac though, so you could cut this in half....
Rest / fluids and the meds is all that can be done - be sure and be nice too, as it's apparently a f^cking mare when you get it.
Cheers,
Daver.

My mum had it too. Not nice, but it won't be permanent if it's caused by an infection. Basically what Davey Bhoy said is bang on. Imagine having the room in a constant hangover spin. I think you've got to lie flat out a lot of the time. Be as nice as possible, because although it's not apparent physically, I think it's meant to be an absolute 'mare.
