is your family (back to grandparents) catholic, protestant or mixed
Thought I would slighly change the angle but I think this is more interesting as it tells more about cultural background. Mines really mixed - mixed marriage every time for four generation in a row. Catholics, Presbyterians, episcopalians and even methodists somewhere back.

My dad's mother is from a Protestant family and was totally ostracised when she married a Catholic (my grandfather). Everyone else in the family are Irish Catholics.

RC all the way back as far as I know, definitely back to my Grandparents because they were from all from Donegal and that'll go back to year dot no doubt. I've finished with it unless the occasion requires me to practice Catholicism out of respect. My other two brothers are atheists so it's more or less come to an end in our family.

I find this interesting. Scottish tims are often from 50-50 or pretty mixed backgrounds. Most of us a mongrels! The great sectarian division in Scotland is often portrayed as being a blood/ancestry thing one but its defo only partially true and not as simple as that. I wonder if its true of Rangers fans. I think they would probably tend to cover it up a lot more if they had catholic family but you frequently hear mixed families among them too.

No doubt at all that they cover it up, I can't even imagine anyone admitting it in a hun forum to be honest.
