Does anybody want an Independent Scotland?
Why?
Why not?
Will you vote on the referendum in 2010?

I actually hate thatcher
Would be good to have our own troops and not send them into pointless wars. Also it would be good to be known as Scottish and not Brittish

yes for the simple reason that as long as we are attached to more populous and much more right wing England then we will always have a more right wing goverment than we would if we were independent. Independence is the only way to socialism for Scots. It will NEVER happen within a UK context.

Know what really annoys me?
People who criticise the government even though they never bothered to get off their arse and vote, I would like an Independent Scotland, I'm very patriotic and think it's about time we had a change.

voting Labour is a wasted vote for what us basically a soft tory party. The truth is Labour had to and always will have to move to the right to get in on a UK vote.
BTW, you will often hear anti-independence people say 'what about the poor English working classes in the north of England.'. Just ignore that crap. The northern English were offered assembys but voted against them. They had their chance.

Just for the hell of it I'd like independence, couldn't care less about politics now though, British, Irish or otherwise.

It seems that the younger generation are all for independence, where as older people (who I know and who vote labour) don't want a change.

not great. Its all about fear and economics. Its pretty well frowned upon to vote for patriotism in Scotland so the arguements for independence has to be practical - either to do with politics or economics. All the opposition have to do is keep spreading fear about economics.
Bottom line is Ireland had a far poorer base and less natural resources and its done well recently so Scotland should be capable of being a successful small country within the EU too.
