New provisional Car licence law

Do you think the New provisional car licence law which was introduced in Ireland last week will have any effect on the amount of road deaths, For those who don't know about this, any person who has a provisional car licence has to have a passanger in the car who has a full licence.

I don't think it will, people will just remove the 'L' sign and carry on driven

If it saves even one life it would have been worth it. It has been law in England for a long time.
The real trouble is when there are 4 or 5 young lads zooming about in one car with boom box going, smoking joints and driving like tossers who wish to impress other tossers.
And yet the pigs are only interested in the size of my number plate on my motorbike

new law joining both uk and ireland, any banned drivers/penalty points etc will be covered by both sets of laws in the two countries, so no more law dodging..
