Cool and overcast at the present, but that beats heatstroke anytime.
My younger son turns 17 on the 6th so we'll be celebrating his birthday today too. Ah yes, 17 years ago we miscalculated and wound up arriving in Sudbury (Massachusetts, my parents home) just in time to land right in the middle of all the town's festivities. It was 90*F(32*C) and I was naturally enormous. I remember standing there timing contractions and thinking, "Woman gives birth during parade! Film at 11!"

We just came in from watching the fireworks that are set off from a barge on the Charles River following a concert given by the Boston Pops at the Hatch shell. We can see them from Pudding Stone Park, which is a terraced and landscaped hill near my house.
A very nice 4th, rain not withstanding
