Terrorist or Freedom Fighter.

There is an old saying that one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.
Do you have your own opinion of what is a terrorist of do you go with what western govenments tell you is a terrorist?
Who in your opinion is the terrorist and who is the freedom fighter?

You can vote for more than one. If you think none of them are terrorists then just don't vote.

very good question. i consider people who are being oppressed by their own government and also people who are fighting to expel an occupying foreign force from their country as freedom fighters

Any organisation who deliberately attack civilians are a terrorist organisation.. which would be Al Qaeda, the Taliban and Hamas.

The PKK, who are currently involved in fierce fighting with Turkish troops, even though the PKK are based in Iraq. They've been responsible for a very low rate of civillian casualties throughout their campaign, and have been responsible for a very high amount of Army casualties.

I don't think being a Celtic supporter should automatically mean you support the IRA. I don't view the IRA as terrorists because I have a certain perspective of what I deem a terrorist to be. Bader-Meinhoff was a terrorist outfit, but IRA? No. Nothing to do with Celtic.

People are saying a freedom fighter is somebody fighting for the good of his own country in some way which I completely agree with so with that understanding I would consider the IRA, for example to be freedom fighters. But when you look at the other side of the argument and see the many deliberate murders and bombings throughout their campaign it puts a whole new spin on the argument. Just a thought...

I think it's almost impossible to fairly categorize each of them. Personal opinion plays too strong an aspect in it.

I voted IRA. Even if you have a legitimate grievance if your tactics include targeting non-combatants then your a terrorist. granted the other 2 iras are prob worse than the provos.
