the first thing i do when i enter a room is scan the four corners to check for spiders.

it still controls my life so much that im considering going back for more hypnotherapy. theres so many things id never do because of spiders....such as lie about on the grass, go near trees etc.

and its something id hate to pass onto my children as its been crippling for me.

i also cant stand cotton wool. boak.
you sure wouldn't like my parents attic then, it would drive you to a nervous breakdown.

I know what you mean. We have a big, heavy front door and I came home stoned one night (about 1.00am), closed and locked the door and went to feed the cat in the utility room. Turned around to go back into the kitchen and there was a fucking monster spider there in the doorway (I live in the country and some of the spiders are so big, they should have saddles on). I stood for 15 mins, praying it would go, but it didn't, so I had to go out the back door, round the front and knock to get let back in. My mum got up, asked about the obvious red-eye (I was very caned), saw the spider and woke my dad. He got up, asked about the red-eye () and shouted at me for being a coward. Fair enough, but I wasn't going near that fucking thing.

I've woken up, plastered to my bedroom wall, because I've dreamt there was a spider in my bed, under the covers. I think it's the way they move.

I never plan on getting close enough to one to find out. I will juggle snakes, but any spider with a leg span of over an inch is no-go.

Flying in planes, was in a plane once as a child that had an engine explode and resulted in us having to make an emergency landing. Didn't effect me right away but over the years the realisation of what happened set in and have been on a plane since 2003.

I have to be honest and say that a lot of my fears have been amplified by the amount of weed I used to smoke. I used to be pretty fearless (I'm COVERED in accident-related scars), but now I second-think everything. I stopped the weed completely (except for on the ocassion) about a year and a half ago and the paranoia is definitely getting better. Just say no, kids! Well, just not morning, noon and night, anyway.

I used to be really scared of drowning because I went under deep water after coming off a fast water slide at the Time Capsule once when I was ten and blacked out, I remember thinking at the time 'so this is what dying is like'. I then awoke in the Time Capsule medical room. After that I didn't go near pools for years but when I joined the gym my dad's friend worked really hard on getting me into the water. I can now go in water but not water that's deeper than me.

I used to be scared of heights, but that stopped when I rode the Pepsi Max Big One at Blackpool. A 250 foot vertical drop with only a flimsy lap-bar terrified me but it was so amazing I did it 15 times and now realise I shouldn't have been scared of heights. Which is a good thing because I' going to be bungee-jumping in September as part of the Mark Scott Charity program and hopefully doing a 10,000ft. Skydive next summer if I can raise £500 for charity.

I've never really been scared of spiders which is good because I want to move to Australia and have been told the fuckers are everywhere in Oz, especially the Redback Spider Dempsey posted about. My sister is scared of every single animal out there lol....even Cats and Dogs... and cries when spiders are near her.
