When Mike McCurry blows his whistle at Rugby Park he will have completed his 6th Rankers game of the season, more than double that of any other referee. That's not the interesting fact, although you may think that is interesting enough...
Of those 6 matches, 5 of them have been SPL matches. Nope, that's not it either.
Sunday's game will be Mike McCurry's 14th SPL game of the season, meaning that an incredible 35% of his SPL appointments have been Rankers. Yip, every 3rd SPL game is a Rankers game for Mike! Is it his last season or something?
And, if you haven't dozed off yet, having dished out a total of 40 yellow cards in his 13 SPL games so far, he gave Celtic players more yellow cards in that one match at Ipox than he has given Orc players in all of the SPL games combined.
When coupled to the fact that no player in the SPL has received more yellow cards than Aiden McGeady, that big brut of a hammer thrower, it does make you wonder when things will start to even themselves out. Doesn't it?
Aiden has received more yellow cards than Cuellar, Weir, Papac, Adam and Ferguson combined.
