Asda raise age for booze

Beware if you are under the age of 25, Asda has raised the age for buying booze without I.D to 25. A direct attempt to stamp out under age drinking. It is being piloted in ten stores but looks likely to get rolled out across the board.
Source: Reporting Scotland

Dont think it'll matter much to the mass under agers as Asda dont stock Buckfast.

Seems fair, looks like a lot of shops like ASDA are doing this. Was in Tesco a few weeks back with two of my friends and one (19 years old) was buying a few drinks for that night. We were second from the front of the queue when my other friend (17 years old) goes to talk to someone. Me and my friend get to the front of the check-out when the women asks for his ID, he shows her it and she asks for mine. I told her how it wasn't for me but aparently it's 'new regulations'. Frankly, if I wasn't 18, I reckon my mate would have been well pissed off.

Dunno why yous are complaining. My city is one of the worst in switzerland. many 12-16 year old children drink until they collapse. the worst of all, they leave behind a horrible mess in parks or other public places.

Does this mean you can still purchase booze if you are say, 18 and have ID?

Or do you need to be 25 and prove you are 25??

You can still buy it at 18, but the staff have got to ask for ID from anyone they suspect is under 25.
