thought it mite be regi,, after your last post,, just get the op done mate your better off . i had mine done three months ago now its feelin alot better but football is out the window for at least another 5 months minimum, ,, its hard work mate but worth it in the end,, best of luck

Sometimes you can get by without the op if you build up your surrounding muscles sufficiently mate, well worth putting the effort in just now. If you need the op then i hope you have private health insurance cause it can be a nightmare waiting time for the procedure. Good luck anyway

I agree with Joe, start a carefull routine on your own, if it is not too sore keep up the gym machine work, then strengthen all the other stuff, try glucosamin condroitin (sp) as well.
Worked for me, I almost had an operation two plus years ago, and I play ok now every Sunday, just back from the gym this morning my time! 
I played after about 4 to 6 months.
