Mjallby votes Green & White
With all fifteen points from five league games in charge, Johan Mjallby believes that an unbeaten run until the end of the season including an old firm tie and an away day at Tynecastle should mean that Neil Lennon must be considered for the vacant manager’s post.
With Celtic rumoured to have paid West Brom £2.5 million to secure the services of Tony Mowbray, Mark Venus and Peter Grant and with them all having been shown the door 10 months later further compensation may be due, perhaps forcing the board to look from within to appoint a new general manager.
Mjallby looks ahead to an unbeaten league run until end of season
Mjallby however insists that since the departures the interim management have instilled a hard work ethic. After the abysmal surrender of the Scottish cup Mjallby believes that the team are now showing more passion and fight, and this has been proven in recent league encounters. Although the Swede will return to his homeland at the end of the season, he’ll no doubt be keeping one eye on matters inside Celtic Park.
Lennon has indicated that he would like the job on a more permanent basis although admits that this season they have been found wanting in all competitions having already told the Celtic board that if he’s not present next season then neither should some of the first team players.
Lennon ponders old firm match ahead
With a home match against arch rivals Rangers on Tuesday Lennon knows that victory – certainly a convincing one will go a long way to securing the post on a permanent basis.
There are, according to media outlets no end of experienced candidates for the job – Alan Pardew and Billy Davies are two names to have been touted towards Dermot Desmond and Peter Lawwell, two names that don’t raise the pulse of the majority of Celtic’s faithful following.

Pardew & Davies both linked with Celtic
Former Celtic defender Willie McStay’s name is also in the frame having resigned as head coach from Hungary’s Ujpest FC in April and taking over at Celtic reserves. One name that does raise the pulse however is that of Mark Hughes, having been without a club since December following his dismissal from Manchester City.
One things for certain though, the Celtic board will as always be keeping their cards close to their chest until after the dust has settled on yet another dismal season.
