CIS Insurance Cup Fourth Round Preview
'Yes' to the CIS
Celtic manager Gordon Strachan yesterday sounded out a warning that Celtic are in every cup they enter this year to win them.
In a short statement of intent that won't have been well received by their fourth round opponents, Livingstone, Strachan said;
“We want to try and win everything we get involved in, and it’s nice to get to a cup final.”
Having rung the changes in recent weeks to mixed success, it appears the Celtic managers confidence in the strength of his squad has reached new heights unseen in his tenure so far.
To that end, and also given the fact the side only played on Sunday afternoon, tonight should be no different and a few of the less utilised squad players should get their chance to impress.
"There will be changes to our team and it’s understandable because we played Sunday and now we’re playing Tuesday, but it’s not because it’s Livingston, it’s because we want to change the team again."
Having defeated Dundee away from home 3-0 on Saturday, a match that Strachan himself took in at Dens Park, tonight should be a decent test of the new found confidence the manager has in his apparent 'fringe' players against the strong and compact Division 1 league leaders.
